Biography of Jonathan Jackson
Jonathan Jackson is an American journalist who currently works as a reporter at NBC4 since February 2021. A native of the Detroit metro area, Jackson began his career at WNEM-TV in Saginaw and Flint, Michigan, as a reporter and fill-in anchor.
Jonathan graduated in Oakland University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and minors in Broadcasting and Journalism. At Oakland, he served as a student producer-video services department.
Beginning in January 2015, Jonathan worked as a news reporter/multimedia intern at Orion Neighborhood Television in Lake Orion, Miami. At the station, he co-hosted and wrote a 30-minute newscast, co-hosted a live telethon for the annual ONTV Food Drive, and produced and edited my own news packages for a bi-weekly broadcast.
Jackson officially began his broadcasting career at Civic Center Television in West Bloomfield, Miami as a news anchor/reporter. After working for a year and a half, he moved to WNEM TV5 in Saginaw, Michigan Area where he worked as a news reporter.
At WNEM, Jackson covered a number of high-profile stories, such as the aftermath of the Flint Water Crisis and the kidnapping plot against Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
In February 2021, Jonathan left WNEM TV5 to join NBC4, WCMH-TV, in Columbus, Ohio, where he currently works as a news reporter. Before entering television, Jackson worked in radio and appeared on shows such as “The Mitch Albom Show” on WJR in Detroit. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys watching sports (especially football), playing video games like Super Smash Bros., or bowling.
