Biography of Lena Arango
Lena Arango is an English meteorologist who currently works at KRIV-TV FOX 26 as a weekend morning meteorologist. She joined the station in August 2021. Before joining this station, she worked at WGGB ABC40/FOX6. Here she started as a freelance meteorologist before becoming a full-time meteorologist.
She attended and graduated from North Essex Community College. Arango graduated in 2015 after joining this institution in 2007. She then attended the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. From there, she graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science: Atmospheric Science Option. Additionally, she earned her Master of Science in Environmental Studies and Atmospheric Sciences from the same university.
Arango interned at the National Weather Center as a research intern. This was in May 2017. She left the center in July 2017. There, she conducted research during a ten-week paid internship. She was also a weather intern at WFXT Boston 25 News from October 2017 to January 2018.
Additionally, Arango was on the Boston Marathon meteorology team for 3 years, completed research at the National Weather Center, and after starting her career close to home in Massachusetts, is now bringing her talents south to Texas. As a minority woman, Arango is extremely passionate about STEM education, especially for underrepresented groups. She currently works as a full-time weekend morning meteorologist at KRIV FOX 26 Houston. She joined the station in August 2021.
