Adriana Diaz biography
Adriana Diaz has been a Chicago-based American national correspondent for CBS News since joining the station in 2012. She is the anchor for the Saturday edition of “CBS Weekend News”, which broadcasts from CBS News’ Chicago Bureau, located at CBS News’ headquarters. from CBS. and operated station WBBM-TV.

Previously, she was a Beijing-based correspondent for CBS News in Asia, where she used her Mandarin skills to report from China on US-China relations, Chinese politics, science and culture. She reported from inside North Korea twice, documenting the country’s political pomp and isolation. Adiana’s missions in Asia also took her to the Korean Demilitarized Zone, South Korea, Japan and Laos.
She recently reported from inside the COVID-19 wards, where she interviewed patients and frontline workers at Wisconsin’s largest hospital. Adriana and her colleagues also covered the disproportionate effect of the pandemic on minorities. She has reported on gun violence in Chicago, the Flint water crisis, and Mexico, reporting on migrant caravans traveling on foot to the United States. She currently serves on the board of the Harmony Program, which provides music education to New York City students in underserved communities.
