Adriana Loya is a two-time Emmy-winning Mexican-American bilingual reporter and multi-skilled journalist who currently works for 12 News. It reports on all programs and platforms. Loya joined 12 News in January 2021.
Adriana was born in Mexico and became a US citizen in 2017. Prior to joining 12 Team, she worked at NBC Boston triopoly where she worked for Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra, New England Cable News and NBC10. Prior to that, Loya worked as a multimedia journalist, producer and anchor for Univision Kansas (KDCU) and KWCH 12 Eyewitness News based in Wichita, Kansas.
While in Boston, Adriana was the first live market reporter on site during the Merrimack Valley Gas explosions. Additionally, she was the only Spanish-language reporter to go live during David Ortiz’s arrival at Massachusetts General Hospital after he was critically wounded with a gunshot wound in the Dominican Republic.
In addition, due to her training, Adriana joined ASU, where he majored in Journalism and Mass Communication at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Also, Loya is twice Emmy winner and a member of the National Society of Hispanic Journalists.
During her free time, she enjoys quality time with her family, including her two wiener basset hounds named Gamez and Heisenberg.
