Ahmed Fareed is an American journalist who currently works as a studio host and sports reporter for NBC and NBC. Additionally, he joined NBC Sports Bay Area in January 2013.
He is a native of Sparta, Michigan, where he played quarterback for the Spartans. He attended and graduated from Syracuse University S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
He began his career as a weekend sports anchor for WILK-TV and WSYM-TV in Lansing, Michigan. He later moved to WAVY-TV in Portsmouth, VA. There, he spent five years covering local sports. He covered the Washington Redskins, Norfolk Tides, Virginia Tech Hokies, and Virginia Cavaliers.

Prior to his work at NBC Sports Bay Area in San Fransisco, he was employed by MLB Network. Here he appeared regularly on studio programming. This included MLB Tonight and Quick Pitch. He also served as a studio host on USA Network and NBCSN for the 2016 Summer and 2018 Winter Olympics.
In February 2019, NBC Sports Net announced that he was leaving his position in the Bay Area to join the headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. In July 2021, he served as a studio host on NBCSN and the Olympic Channel for the 2021 Summer Olympics.
