Ahmed Fareed is an American journalist who currently works as a studio presenter and sports reporter on NBC and NBC. Furthermore, he joined NBC Sports Bay Area in January 2013.
He is originally from Sparta, Michigan, where he played quarterback for the Spartans. He attended and graduated from Syracuse University SI Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
He started his career as a weekend sports anchor for WILK-TV and WSYM-TV in Lansing, Michigan. He later moved to WAVY-TV in Portsmouth, VA. There he spent five years covering local sports. He covered the Washington Redskins, Norfolk Tides, Virginia Tech Hokies and Virginia Cavaliers.
Prior to his job at NBC Sports Bay Area in San Francisco, he was signed to MLB Network. Here he regularly appeared in the studio schedule. This included MLB Tonight and Quick Pitch. He also served as a studio presenter on USA Network and NBCSN for the 2016 Summer and 2018 Winter Olympics.
In February 2019, NBC Sports Net announced that it was leaving its Bay Area position. This was to join their headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. In July 2021, he served as a studio presenter on NBCSN and the Olympic Channel for the 2021 Summer Olympics.
