Aisha Tyler is an American actress, comedian, and presenter who rose to fame for portraying the role of Andrea Marino in the first season of Ghost Whisperer. She then gained further fame for voicing the role of Lana Kane on Archer and for playing a recurring role on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Friends (2004). Tyler’s other famous roles are in Bad Therapy (2020), Friendsgiving (2020) and Untitled Horror Movie (2021).
Tyler was born and raised in the affluent suburbs of San Francisco, California. She grew up the daughter of a teacher and a photographer. Tyler completed high school at McAteer High School in her hometown. Tyler then enrolled at the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of Arts and studied through a special program. She then learned to improvise and sketch art from Sam Rockwell. In 1992, Aisha graduated from Dartmouth College, where she was a member of Tabard and coed fraternity.
Aisha made her acting debut by starring in several TV shows in 2001 and hosting a talk show called Talk Soup. However, the show was canceled in 2002. She also hosted another reality show called The Fifth Wheel which she left the same year Talk Soup was cancelled. She then played a supporting role in a stage play called Moose Mating which won her an NAACP Image Award. The following year, Tyler directed, starred in and wrote a screenplay for a famous independent film called The Whipper in 2003.
From there, Tyler landed her most famous role on Friends in 2004. She played Dr. Charlie Wheeler and gained national and international credibility from various audiences. In 2005, she played a recurring role on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation before joining the cast of Ghost Whisperer. Most of Tyler’s television and film roles are on Celebrity Jeopardy!
