Alex Wilson biography
Alex Wilson is an American meteorologist who currently works as a meteorologist and co-host of “Weather Underground” on The Weather Channel. She joined the network in March 2013. Prior to joining the current network, she worked at FOX Carolina in Greenville.
Wilson attended Syracuse University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a BA in broadcast journalism and marketing in May 2006. She later attended Penna State University and graduated with honors with a BA in Meteorology. This was in December 2007. She also received the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society.
Previously, she worked as a morning weather forecaster at FOX Carolina in Greenville, SC. Prior to that, she spent two years working at WOWK-TV and WVNS-TV in Huntington. At Penna State, she received the AMS John R Hope Endowed Scholarship in Atmospheric Science. Furthermore, she received the J Nand Peggy Myers Scholarship in Meteorology. This was from the PSU Meteorology Department. Her third scholarship was the John and Elizabeth Holmes Teas Scholarship. This was from the PSU College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. She currently serves as a meteorologist and co-host.
