Allen Henry biography
Allen Henry is an American journalist who currently works as a reporter for NBC4, WCMH-TV, in Columbus, Ohio, since joining the team in August 2020. Prior to joining NBC4, Henry worked as a reporter for Fox 45.
Allen is a graduate of the EW Scripps School of Journalism in Ohio University where he studied Broadcast Journalism with a specialization in Sociology and Political Science.
At Ohio University, Henry benefited from working as an assistant for the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire in Washington DC, covering the White House, Congress, and the National Spelling Bee.
In addition, he was chosen as a member of the Statehouse News Bureau, where he secured Ohio state government affairs from Columbus. A few days after graduating from Ohio University, Allen moved to Montgomery, Alabama, and recognized an occupation with the WSFA 12 News.
During his tenure at the station, Henry was associated with some significant stories, including celebrating the 50th anniversary of Selma’s walk to Montgomery and helping a man recoup a large number of dollars from his appraisal discount. Allen also covered the state’s acquisition of the Montgomery Public Schools and some exams with 12 News Defender.
Henry then left for Fox 8 in New Orleans, where he served as a morning columnist. He was live every morning, covering breaking mid-term and early-day news and helping Fox 8 Morning Edition become New Orleans’s #1 decision for focused market news.
Allen joined NBC4 in August 2020 and currently serves as a reporter. Before NBC4. Henry worked at WKEF/WRGT in Dayton. He started his broadcasting career at the WSFA in Montgomery, Alabama. He also appeared on WVUE in New Orleans as a reporter, covering everything from Mardi Gras to tropical storms.
