Amanda Dugan is an American journalist who works as a morning traffic reporter for KXAN-TV in Austin, Texas. Dugan’s analytical skills in reporting and docking programs drew much creative criticism from the station’s traffic reporters.
Amanda began her career shortly after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Texas State Universitywhen she was chosen as America’s Next Top Co-host and joined the popular morning show Orange Juice and Biscuits on KTSW-89.9 FM.
Less than two years after getting into radio, she launched her own morning show, Rise N Shine. Fortunately, five months after finishing her graduation, she was named one of the 5 finalists in the annual CW Star Search. After completing a series of challenges and garnering votes online, Amanda got a shot at being the 2011 CW Austin Star.
She was the voice, face and personality of CW Austin as the new star. Dugan represented the station on air, on social media, and at various events in Austin throughout the year.
Furthermore, she has done professional interviews with people like Will Ferrell, Conan O’Brien, Jodi Foster, Kristen Wiig, Perez Hilton, Molly Shannon and many others. Amanda knew she still wanted to work on camera when her time on The CW Star came to an end. She jumped at the chance to work as a morning traffic anchor for KXAN News.
