Ana Belaval is an American reporter and presenter who currently works at WGN-TV as the host of the show “Around Town”. The show primarily focuses on various people, places and things of interest in and around Chicago. She joined the WGN staff in June 2005. Additionally, Belaval works as a substitute anchor for CLTV News and WGN Morning News. In addition, she contributes to the community affairs program called ‘Adelante Chicago!’. Ana is a stand-up comedian.
Before joining WGN, Belaval worked for nine years at univision. She began her career as a general reporter at the Chicago affiliate WGBO. She was even a network correspondent for Univision’s national morning show, based in New York. While at Univision, Belaval was nominated for an Emmy for her “Ana Lo Hace” feature series, in which she performed various tasks performed by Hispanics in Chicago. In Chicago, she served as a weekend anchor and general reporter. Belaval has won an Emmy three times and four times an Emmy nomination.
