Angela Rye is an American lawyer, chief executive officer, and CEO of Washington DC-based political law firm IMPACT Strategist, a political analyst with National Public Radio (NPR), and a political commentator for CNN since March 2016.
The cheeky rye has also served as a political attorney and attorney for a number of media houses, including HBO, Marie Clarie, The Root, The Grio, MSNBC, Ebony, Washington Post, BET, C-Span, and counting.
She also directs a weekly podcast “On One with Angela Rye” in which she discusses political, racial, and pop-cultural issues of the day.
Angela Rye was the subject of counter-reactions because of her fierce criticism of President Trump, but not that she takes care of it while she keeps going.

Angela Rye was born on October 26, 1979, in Seattle, Washington. Her father is Eddie Rye Jr., a community organizer, and small business consultant, and her mother Andrea Rye is a retired college administrator.
Angela grew up in a house where politics was often an issue. This increased her affinity for political issues. As she describes in her Instagram profile, Angela Rye is a political nerd.
Angela graduated from a Catholic private all-girls college preparatory school, Holy Names Academy. She studied at the University of Washington, where she earned a BA in 2002.
Angela received a Juris Doctorate from the University School of Law in 2005. In February 2017, she published the above photo of her law degree.
During her law studies, Rye worked for the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) as Western Regional Director. She also worked at the District Office of Congressman Maxine Waters (D-CA).
After graduating, she began her career with the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO) as Coordinator of Advocacy and Legislative Affairs.
In 2006, Rye co-founded IMPACT. The organization’s goal is to “promote young professionals in three core areas: economic empowerment, civic engagement, and political engagement.
With Angela at the helm, IMPACT has experienced exponential growth. The company has strong relationships with the National Bar Association, National Urban League, Congressional Black Caucus Political Education and Leadership Institute, Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, and others.
Since January 2007, Rye has been a Senior Advisor and Counsel at the US House of Reps, Committee on Homeland Security. She held the position for 4 years until December 2010.
Rye was the Executive Director of the Black Congress from January 2011 to January 2013. Angela founded her own policy consulting firm, IMPACT Strategies, in 2013. Like many other prominent journalists, Rye is very secretive about her private life. Her Instagram page is almost exclusively dedicated to political topics. She is undoubtedly a workaholic.
