Ann Sanders is an Australian television journalist and news presenter. Sanders currently hosts Seven Morning News and Seven Afternoon News Sydney. In addition, she was an award-winning journalist who received numerous awards such as the prestigious Logie Award for being Western Australia’s Most Popular Female Personality.
Sanders was born and raised in Australia. She started her journalistic career at SAS-7 in Adelaide, South Australia as a weather presenter before moving to Seven Perth. While there, she won two consecutive Logie Awards for Most Popular Female Personality in Western Australia. Afterwards, Ann left for Sydney to join Network Ten as a consumer reporter and news presenter before returning to the Seven Network as a news presenter in 1988.
Before working for Seven News Sydney in 1995. Sander worked for the 11am national morning news. There she traveled to Chernobyl to cover the story of the radioactive disaster. In 1995, Sanders began presenting the evening edition of Seven News Sydney, before joining Ross Symonds in 1998 until she moved to a weekend in 2004. Prior to that, she was based in Thredbo at the site of the landslide disaster. land in 1997 and collected a Logie Award on behalf of the Seven News team for their coverage of the event.
Throughout her career Ann has covered extensive stories including the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales in London; the Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania and the Waterfall train disaster. From 2007 to 2015, Sander worked for The Morning Show along with Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur, presenting hourly news updates for the station.
Furthermore, she is also a substitute presenter for Seven News Sydney. Early on, Ann presented the Seven Afternoon News national bulletin at 4pm, before being replaced by state bulletins in 2017. Sanders continues to present the local Sydney edition of this bulletin Monday through Thursday, alongside Sally Bowrey.
