Anna Palmer is an American political journalist based in Washington, DC, and the founder of Punchbowl news. She is also the CEO of Punchbowl news since January 2021. Furthermore, she was the host of the related Daily Punch Podcast. Prior to that, she was a reporter for Politico and later became its senior correspondent in Washington.
Palmer attended high school in Kinder, North Dakota, and served as a page boy for US Senator Kent Conrad. She graduated in 2004 from St. Olavo College, where he double majored in political science and English, with a concentration in mass communication. She also wrote for her newspaper, Manitou Messenger, becoming its executive editor.
After graduating, his first significant job was on the biweekly lobby industry newsletter Influence. In 2005, Anna became a lead journalist for the Legal Times, Influence’s parent company, investigating the activities of lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who orchestrated a vast network of corruption.

In October of the same year, she was one of a team of Politico reporters who investigated and reported the allegations against Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain.
Palmer took the lead on Women Rule, and after that, she hosted Politico’s Women Rule podcast. At Politico, she partnered with fellow journalist Jake Sherman to cover political affairs in the capital. Together, they denounced corruption between Democrats and Republicans. From 2016 to 2020, they co-anchored the Politico Playbook.
However, in late 2020, Anna and Sherman left Politico to start Punchbowl News, an online news service focused on non-partisan reporting from power players and events from within and leaders, in Congress and the Washington establishment.
