AnnMarie Powell is an award-winning garden designer, television personality, journalist and author passionate about designing innovative gardens for private clients and businesses. She still educates people about gardening through her books, television appearances and articles in notable newspapers and magazines. AnnMarie is also known for being the daughter of the late former US Secretary of State and politician Colin Powell.
Marie started to be interested in gardening at a young age. She earned a distinction in NCH Garden Design & Hard Landscape Studies from Capel Manor College in 1997.
She has so far hosted several successful garden makeover series on television, including Real Gardens with Monty Don and Carol Klein. This was a special series where gardeners were led to develop their own gardens throughout the season. In 1999, AnnMarie founded Ann-Marie Powell Gardens Ltd, a highly successful garden design company.
AnnMarie is also behind the Green Fingers Charity, which sponsors environmental projects in Jamaica and around the world.
