For a president, it’s nothing you’d ever expect to see when he gets involved in a tweet battle, but with the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, there are no limits. Not so long ago, the President had one of his tweet battles with a man named Anthony Scaramucci. As one might expect, this brought Scaramucci a lot of attention, because people wanted to know who he was, just as they wanted to know what the rift between him and the President was all about.
Known today as “The Mooch”, the Italian-American served as White House Communications Director for President Donald Trump’s administration for only ten days. Scaramucci was fired for his involvement in a scandal involving the mistreatment of staff. After he was dismissed, the man, who was once a staunch supporter of the Trump administration, began to express his desire to get Trump out of the Oval Office.

Before politics, Anthony Scaramucci worked at Goldman Sachs, first as an investment banker before being transferred to the equities department. He left Goldman in 1996 to form Oscar Capital Management with his colleague Andrew Bosshardt. In 2005, he joined Goldman Sachs and founded a global alternative investment firm called SkyBridge Capital. But as fate would have it, he resigned from his leadership position and ended his ties with SkyBridge and SALT in 2017, after the company announced the sale of its majority stake to a Chinese conglomerate with close ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
Anthony Scaramucci is considered one of the most powerful minds in global finance. He was named as such in the top 100 list of Worth magazine; that was in 2016.
How Did He Become Prominent In Politics?
Scaramucci is no rookie when it comes to politics. He supported Barack Obama’s presidential campaign and served as a fundraiser. Before the 2016 elections, Scaramucci made public his hopes for the next president, Hillary Clinton. At the beginning of the 2016 presidential campaign, he first supported Scott Walker, then Jeb Bush, before pitching his tent with the Donald Trump team in May 2016 and being appointed in November as one of the members of the Presidential Transition Executive Committee of then-elected President Donald Trump.
In January 2017, Anthony Scaramucci was appointed Assistant to President Trump and also held the position of Director of the Office of Public Relations and Intergovernmental Affairs at the White House. In June of the same year, he was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of the U.S. Export-Import Bank. Within a month, Scaramucci’s responsibilities changed again and he became White House Communications Director. His new position required that he report directly to the President and not to the White House Chief of Staff.
In July 2017, things changed. In a phone conversation with Ryan Lizza of The New Yorker, Scaramucci threatened to fire all White House communications staff for an information leak. The threat triggered reactions that caused a scandal and led to his dismissal on July 31, 2017. All within ten days at their jobs.
Fallout with President Trump
Scaramucci had never been a big fan of Donald Trump. Before the 2016 election campaign, he called Trump a “hacker-politician” and insisted that his words were always very divisive and anti-American. Scaramucci criticized Trump’s call for a border wall between Mexico and America. He also beat him up for blaming Muslims for terrorism.
These criticisms were before his time in Trump’s cabinet. During his early days as a White House official, Scaramucci praised every move Trump made. After he was fired as White House Communications Director, Anthony Scaramucci did not throw tantrums. Instead, he became an ardent supporter of Trump and in 2018 published a book entitled Trump, the Blue-Collar President, which he wrote about the President.
His opinion about the president began to change after the resignation of Sir Kim Darroch as British Ambassador to the USA. Again, he openly condemned Trump when we made a “racist” remark about Democratic Congressmen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley.
The President did not let these criticisms worry him until he “accidentally” saw MSNBC’s Hardball, where Scaramucci performed with Chris Matthews. Anthony Sacramucci described Trump’s visit to a hospital in El Paso, Texas, after a mass shooting as “a disaster. Trump was very upset about this and started chirping to express his anger.
And that’s not all. Trump claimed that he was the only reason Scaramucci was so popular and tweeted a compilation video of the former White House communications director praising him.
Scaramucci made it clear that he does not support Donald Trump’s re-election bid. For him, the country made a mistake when it elected the billionaire in the first place.
