Conte was born on July 31, 1969, in southern Italy (more precisely in Lecce) by his parents Cosimino Conte and Ada Briamo, and came into the family as his parents’ first child. After his retirement from club football in 2004, Conte started as a coach. His first job was as assistant to Luigi De Canio, who was the manager of Siena. He later became head coach of Arezzo, a Serie B team, but was dismissed a few months later due to poor results.
