Biography of Asad Ahmad
Asad Ahmad is a well-known English journalist and the BBC’s main news presenter in London.
Ahmad started working at the BBC News Trainee Scheme and joined BBC Birmingham as a reporter and political presenter. He later went to work as a correspondent and presenter for News night Scotland, which is a former current affairs television show. As he worked here, he covered the foot and mouth disease outbreak and riots in northern England.
Asad also worked for the BBC London as a reporter for BBC Breakfast and presented the news summary for the former current affairs programme, Breakfast with Frost. He also presented news on BBC News with Sian Williams and now works with a team of presenters.
In 2008, Asad was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident that resulted in a brain injury. He lost his balance and this resulted in him walking with the help of a cane, as he was in danger of becoming paralyzed.
