Bert Kreischer, also known as The Machine, is an American comedian, podcaster, reality television host, and actor. He is the owner of the podcast titled Bertcast and Open Tabs and the cooking show Something’s Burning which launched in 2012. In addition, Kreischer also co-hosts the podcast 2 Bears, 1 Cave with Tom Segura. As a comedian, he is known for his acting on shows like Bert Kreischer: Comfortably Dumb and Bert Kreischer: Secret Time.
Bert was born and raised in St.Petersburg, Florida, United States. He completed high school at a Jesuit private school and later attended Florida State University where he majored in English. He was also a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. During his time at university, he was named “Top Party” by “Rolling Stone” magazine. That same year, the university was named number one on “The Princeton Review” annual list of “Top Party Schools” in the United States.
His professional career began as a comedian at a bar and nightclub in Tallahassee, Florida. After that, he went to New York City, where his tape was sent to a talent agent who invited him to see some stand-up shows in the city. In 2009, he hosted his first special called “Bert Kreischer: Comfortably Dumb”. Additionally, Kreischer worked the door at the now-defunct Boston Comedy Club.
