Bianca Cook also known as Bianca Walkden is a British taekwondo athlete and Olympian. She is best known for being the first GB Taekwondo athlete to win the World Championship crown for a third time. In addition, Cook is also the winner of the four-time European champion and two-time Olympic medalist. Recently, she won the gold medal in the women’s +73kg category in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Bianca started her professional career at the age of 11, when she attended a local club with her best friend. She subsequently won her first bronze medal at the European Junior Championships at the age of 15. She subsequently received silver at the Junior World Championships before qualifying for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Furthermore, Walkden also won the gold medal in the +73kg category at the 2015 World Taekwondo Championships in Russia. After that, she became only the second British woman to win a world title, after Sarah Stevenson won it in 2001 and 2011.
In 2017, she became the first practitioner to win all 4 Grand Prix events in her division in a single season. Following her success, she competed at the 2017 Muju WTF World Taekwondo Championship and emerged as the victor. She also defeated American Jackie Galloway in the heavyweight division before joining Jade Jones as the sole British practitioner.
