Bisi Onile-Ere is an American journalist who currently serves as the co-anchor of FOX 9 News at 6:30 pm and FOX 9+ News at 7 pm, along with Tom Blotz. Onile-Ere joined the station’s staff in December 2017.
Previously, before joining FOX 9 News, she worked as a correspondent for the Detroit, Michigan office of national news networks. She reported on and anchored on WDIV-TV, an NBC affiliate in Detroit, WJRT-TV, an ABC affiliate in Flint, Michigan, and the CBS affiliate in Duluth, Minnesota, where she began her on-air news career.
In addition, Bisi covered a range of national breaking news such as the murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Mohammad Noor, the Flint water crisis, Detroit’s historic bankruptcy and the General Motors ignition switch recall. Over the course of her career, she has been nominated for two Michigan Emmy Awards and a Michigan Associated Press Award. Furthermore, she is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. While she is not working, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family.
Onile-Ere attended and graduated South High School in Minneapolis for her high school. He later enrolled in the University of Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism.
