Bob Brooks Biography
Bob Brooks is a veteran American journalist who currently serves as an anchor and reporter for 6ABC News in Philadelphia. He joined the station in July 2016 from WTVJ in Miami. Florida, where he served as an anchor. For his outstanding career, Bob gained national recognition in the Hearst Journalism Awards program due to a report he did on the potential impact that Marcellus shale gas drilling could have on central Pennsylvania’s world-class trout fishery.
A Pittsburgh native, Brooks is thrilled to be back in Pennsylvania. Prior to his stint at the Sunshine State, he worked as an anchor and reporter at WETM-TV in Elmira, New York.
Bob is a proud graduate of Penn State’s College of Communications with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. As a student, Bob worked as an intern at New York-based CBS News. He also starred in Penn State’s award-winning student-run newscast, The Center County Report.
Brooks hosted the 48-hour Mystery show and is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with an exceptional team at 6ABC. He spent most of his life north of the Mason-Dixon Line in southwestern Pennsylvania.
