Bob Uecker biography
Bob Uecker is an American former Major League Baseball player and current sportscaster, comedian, and actor. He has served as a play-by-play announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcast since 1971. Additionally, Bob was inducted by the National Baseball Hall of Fame with its 2003 Ford C. Frick Award in recognition of his broadcasting career.
Starting his baseball career, Bob soon grew to serve as a baseball commentator, television host, wrestling ring announcer, comedian, and television and film actor. However, he gained more fame as a commentator and actor than as a player.
Since 1971, Uecker has served as a play-by-play announcer for Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcasts. He also provided commentary for the ABC show Monday Night Baseball and later for an NBC show. He has made numerous appearances and guest roles in various movies and television series.
As of today, Bob was named the Wisconsin Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association for the years 1977, 1979, 1981, 1982, and 1987. He was also inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2010, Bob was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2001. Uecker was inducted into the 2010 WWE Hall of Fame Class for his appearances at Wrestlemania III and Wrestlemania IV. The following year, Bob was inducted into the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame.
