Bre-Z (born Calesha Murray) is an American actress and rapper famous for her role as Tamia “coop” Cooper on the American series All American. She is also known for her role as Freda Gatz on Empire. Born in Philadelphia, she decided she wanted to study music in sixth grade.
She graduated from high school in 2005 and later attended Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. In 2008, she moved to Atlanta for her new job. She started cutting hair at the age of 10 and her family has a history of being a barber with her grandfather, father and mother all working as barbers.
When she worked as a barber, she had the chance to cut Akon and Ludacris’ hair. In 2014, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming a musician. Later, she started writing songs with Dr. Dre, Jennifer Lopez and The Game.
