Brian Curtis Biography
Brian Curtis is an American journalist who currently works as a co-anchor for NBC5. He co-anchores the 18:00 and news from 22:00 from Monday to Friday. Prior to that, Curtis worked as an anchor and reporter at KCTV/KSMO from March 1995 to December 2002. He also worked as an anchor and reporter at WBRC-FOX6 News.
Brian is trained in Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford. He later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Emory University. He also graduated from University of Missouri School of Journalism with the title of Master of Arts.
Most notably, he joined NBC5 in 2003 as a general reporter and worked his way through the anchor desk. Curtis was a speaker at the 2014 Texas government debates. He has also covered the Pyeongchang, Rio, London, Beijing, Turin and Athens Olympics, as well as the Super Bowl and World Series.
Curtis is passionate about NBC5’s “Clear The Shelters” project, which finds homes for animals in DFT area shelters. He covered big stories that made headlines. Some of the top stories he covered on NBC5 are the West, Texas fertilizer plant explosion, the 2012 tornado; and the loss of the space shuttle Columbia.
