Brian Todd biography
Brian Todd is a veteran American journalist who currently serves as a CNN correspondent in Washington. DC He provides reports for The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. Notably, he contributed to the network’s comprehensive coverage of the network’s “America Votes 2008”.
Brian also reported on several breaking news, including the Lewis “Scooter” Libby trial, Hurricane Katrina, the Dubai Ports controversy, and the Sago Mine disaster. In addition, he has delivered in-depth reports on terrorism, politics and national security and various series.
The CNN veteran holds a BA in Communications from the University of Miami. He served the network for more than two decades, having joined the network in 1987 as a morning program writer. Soon after, he assumed responsibilities for field production and for long-form reporting.
From 1989 to 1993, Brian served as an anchor and reporter for CNN Newsroom, a news program for high school and high school students. He then became a Washington, D.C.-based news producer in 1993 and then an editorial producer for Larry King Live in 1997.
In 2000, Todd became the senior producer of Wolf Blitzer Reports, a precursor to The Situation Room. As a producer, Brian began offering on-air reporting in January 2004 and became a full-time on-air correspondent in 2006.
Prior to joining CNN, Todd served as a reporter for Guam Cable TV in the Pacific Mariana Islands; Sports Producer for WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh and Sports Producer for WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C.
