Calvin joined Local 10 News in late 2006 from KYW-TV, the Philadelphia-based CBS station where he has been since 2003.

His career has brought him opportunities to serve as an anchor and reporter in three of the top 10 media markets in the country, including Philadelphia, Atlanta and Dallas. He reported from Lexington, Ky, Evansville, Indiana, and Columbia, Missouri. where he started his career at age 19.
Hughes and his family didn’t give up on diving into South Florida’s deeply diverse neighborhoods when he joined WPLG Local 10 News. He relentlessly sought the opportunity to comprehensively report on Haiti in 2008, after reporting a story about Haitian refugees who risked, in some cases, losing their lives on a deadly voyage scheduled for the shores of Miami. Afterwards, Hughes was well-prepared to be one of the Port-au-first Prince journalists to cover the devastating magnitude 7.0 earthquake that hit the region.
