Carla Wade Biography
Carla Wade is a two-time Emmy Award-winning veteran journalist who currently works on WVTM NBC 13. Wade comes to KTNV ABC 13 News’ WVTM in Las Vegas, where she served as the station’s weekend morning anchor.
Carl joined KTNV from the ABC affiliate in Dallas, Texas. As a reporter, Carl has covered everything from the Ebola scare to the “American Sniper” Chris Kyle shooting, record flooding and everything in between.
Wade is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma at Norman, where she began her journalistic career with the student newspaper and local radio. In addition, she was a founding member of the local chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists, supported STEAM Education with the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, and hosted the national convention of the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. in Las Vegas.
Before moving to Dallas, Carla worked as a reporter and anchor at KOCO in Oklahoma City. She spent time chasing Tornado Alley and covering championship races for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Wade also anchored and reported at stations in Lexington, Kentucky: Little Rock, Arkansas; and Lawton, Oklahoma.

Carla began her career in radio news, working as a morning show co-host and nightly news anchor for stations in Oklahoma City and Norman. This was during his days at the University of Oklahoma. Wade’s work won him the Oklahoma Associated Press Broadcaster Award.
Wade made giving back to society in every city he lived in a priority. Notably, she has volunteered with Junior Achievement, the Dallas Urban Debate Alliance, and remains involved with the Oklahoma City National Memorial. The memorial has always been close to her heart since she lost her father in the 1995 Murrah Federal Building bombing.
Carla is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.
