Charles Barkley born Charles Wade Barkley is a renowned American professional basketball player and television personality who plays in the power forward position. He is a notable NBA icon as he became the fourth player to accumulate 20,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists during his 16-year NBA career.
Barkley was an amateur high school basketball player until a 6-inch growth helped him become one of Alabama’s top players during his later years. He later won a scholarship to Auburn University, where he was chosen by the Philadelphia 76ers with the fifth overall pick in the 1984 NBA draft.
However, his height was too small for a forward, but his great jumping ability and his ability to establish position around the basket using his thoughtful strength quickly made him one of the best rebounds in the game.
