Chasity Maxie is an American journalist who currently works as a reporter, producer and anchor at WBRC FOX6 News since joining the station in April 2020. Prior to joining the current station, she worked as a reporter, anchor and producer at WTVY TV in Dothan.
Born in Chicago, Maxie graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. She continued her education at Columbia College Chicago earning a master’s degree in journalism.
After graduating, Maxie landed her first job in Peoria, Illinois at WHOI-TV. There, she produced, anchored, hosted and reported on the network’s webcast. Years later, she joined WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo, Michigan as a producer for 10pm. After years of work, Maxie returned to school to earn a master’s degree in teaching from the National Louis University.
She spent the next 5 years teaching third grades at the Chicago Public School. However, when an opportunity arose on WTVY-TV in Dothan, Maxie jumped at it without hesitation. That’s because even though she was in the class physically, her heart never left the newsroom.
Maxie would spend the next year on WTVY’s sister station WRGX as an anchor. Passionate about her work and wanting to improve her skills, Maxie accepted an opportunity at the WBRC as a reporter and multimedia journalist.
She officially started working at the WBRC in April 2020 and has been here ever since. When she is off duty, she enjoys eating at new restaurants, talking on the phone with family and friends, and reading books.
