Cheryl Burke is an American dancer, model, and television host. Burke is popular for being a professional dancer on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Earlier, she was the first professional woman to win the show twice in a row. Born and raised in San Francisco, California, United States.
Cheryl attended a traditional primary school and then graduated from ‘Menlo-Atherton High School’ in 2002. Burke started her ballet training at the age of 4. However, after a few years, her mother realized that Burke was no longer interested in ballet. Thus, she took her to a ballroom conclusion when she was 10 years old. Burke was amazed to watch the dance form and decided to learn it. At age 13, she began participating in international ballroom dancing competitions.
Burke was discovered by an ABC talent agency while competing in a pageant in 2005 alongside her ex-boyfriend Jose DeCamps. She subsequently competed on the network’s dance reality show Dancing with the Stars as a result (DWTS). In the same year, Burke won the title of ‘World Cup Professional Rising Star Champion’, ‘San Francisco Rising Star Latin Champion’ and ‘Ohio Star Ball Latin Rising Star Champion’.
Burke began her career in 2006, making her first television debut as ‘Shannon’, a nurse, in an episode of ‘The Disney Channel sitcom ‘The Suite Life of Zack & Cody’ entitled ‘Loosely Ballroom’. She subsequently appeared as a dancer on Smallville. In addition, she received two Primetime Emmy nominations in 2006, one for “Best Choreography” and another for “Variety/Music Program and Special”. Likewise, Burke won his first mirrorball trophy with 98 Degrees member Drew Lachey in season two. In 2007, she returned for season 4 with actor Ian Ziering. However, they were eliminated in the semifinals of the same year.

However, in week 3, the couple withdrew from the competition due to Lewis suffering a torn tendon in his foot. For season 29, she was partnered with Backstreet Boys singer AJ McLean, coming in at number seven. On September 8, 2021, it was announced that Burke would be partnering with Cody Rigsby for the 30th season of DWTS. Cheryl was partnered with Good Morning America meteorologist Sam Champion for season 31. It was recently announced that Burke would be leaving the show as a professional dancer after the 31st season finale.
