Christian Bruey biography
Christian Bruey is a well-known American journalist currently working as a sports reporter and anchor at WFTV Station in Orlando, Florida. On WFTV, Christian hosts our nightly sports show, our weekly 30-minute show, and our high school football show. He joined WFTV in 2009. He previously worked behind the play-by-play mic for Daytona Cubs of the Chicago Cubs.
Bruey was born in Florida, United States, where he grew up with a passion for sports, especially soccer. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications in 2006. In addition, he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega society while in college. He started his career in Journalism at the University.
Christian began his career working as an anchor and reporter at WRUF 850. There he spent five years at the station hosting daily roll call shows as well as providing sports updates for newscasts. He moved to Hagerstown Suns Professional Baseball and served at the club as assistant director of broadcast and media relations. He later left Hagerstown in September 2008. The same year, Bruey resumed his role as Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations at Daytona Clubs Professional Baseball.
In addition, he also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars between August 2014 and January 2019. While working for Jacksonville, Bruey worked as a studio presenter at the stadium and this gives him the opportunity to host the team’s stadium show and their annual drafts held before the Station. He later moved to join WFT-TV where he currently works.
