Biography of Christian Fraser
Christian Fraser is a renowned British journalist, broadcaster, writer and broadcaster, specializing primarily in news and current affairs. Additionally, he is senior news correspondent for BBC News and co-host of the show formerly known as Beyond 100 Days.
Christian was a longtime BBC foreign correspondent based in Nairobi, Cairo, Rome and Paris. He is currently the BBC’s senior news correspondent based in London, reporting on major international stories. he co-hosted beyond 100 days alongside Katty Kay since the inauguration of former US President Donald Trump, broadcasting at 7pm on BBC News globally and on BBC News Channel and BBC Four in the UK.
Fraser joined Trinity Mirror as a trainee reporter in 1995, working for the Daily Mirror and the Sunday Mirror. In 1996, he became a correspondent for the Daily Mirror before joining the BBC staff in 2000.
Fraser began his professional broadcasting career at BBC Radio Live as an investigative reporter.
For two consecutive years, 2002 and 2003, he reported on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition, he spent a few months in Baghdad reporting on the transition. Also, in 2004, Christians joined Welsh guards in Al Amarah, where British forces were fighting Muqtada al-Sadr’s insurgency.
Additionally, Christian was posted on nairobi in 2005, where he reported on the wars in South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. During the summer of 2006, he moved to Rome as a BBC correspondent for almost two years. During that time he reported on the war in Lebanon. In 2007, he reported from Italy, where he covered the murder of Meredith Kercher and the trial of Amanda Knox.

In 2008, he moved to Cairo. Christian was the only British correspondent inside Gaza in 2007 during the Israeli invasion, Operation Cast Lead. He spent a week in the Palestinian city of Rafah while the Israelis dismantled the tunnels.
Also, in 2010, Christian covered the revolution in Egypt for BBC TV and was appointed BBC correspondent in Paris that year. In 2011, he covered the war in Libya, first from rebel-controlled Benghazi and then from Tripoli as the war dragged on.
Additionally, in 2014, Fraser returned to London as a senior news correspondent for the BBC News Channel, reporting from Crimea during the Russian takeover. In 2015 and 2016, he presented live coverage of the terrorist attacks unfolding in Belgium and France. He currently presents for the BBC News Channel, BBC Breakfast, BBC World and Radio 4’s PM programme.
