Colton Molesky is an American journalist who currently works as a morning reporter at NBC 15 WMTV News in Madison, Wisconsin. Molesky joined NBC 15 News in November 2020 from Dakota News Now, where he served as a morning reporter.
At age six, Colton watched a game from one of the 2000-2001 NBA Finals when he first fell in love with the sport. He watched with his father from the comfort of his couch in downtown Minneapolis Minnesota as Philadelphia 76ers point guard Allen Iverson tackled Los Angeles Lakers point guard Tyronn Lue with the coldest cross he’s ever seen, before sinking a bucket and passing. over Lue, apparently ripping her soul from her body in the process.
Since then, Colton’s love for sports has grown immensely. A few months later, sitting on the same couch, Colton heard the silky voice of announcer Al Michaels as he watched the Baltimore Ravens face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers. When the AI’s smooth and enthusiastic tone took over the game, Colton decided to work in television. He definitely set his goal of taking Michael’s job.
After many years, Colton joined Minnesota State University, Mankato, and majored in journalism and broadcasting. While in college, Molesky worked for the athletics department as a women’s hockey broadcaster.
Additionally, Colton worked as a reporter for the school newspaper, The Reporter, and started an internship covering college sports for SB Nation. He has also covered the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Minnesota Timberwolves for ZoneCoverage.com.
Colton later began his television career at KSFY in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he worked as a Morning Reporter from 2019 to 2020 before joining the NBC 15 morning crew in November 2020.
