Corbin Bleu Reivers is an American actor, dancer, model, film producer, musician, and songwriter. He is best remembered for his role in the Disney Channel original film High School Musical as Chad Danforth, the captain of the school’s basketball team.

Since then, the actor has remained active in the industry, building a career, and making a name for himself.

Corbin Bleu Biography & Age

The actor was born on February 21, 1989, in Brooklyn, New York City. He has three other siblings – Jag, Phoenix, and Hunter, all sisters.

Corbin began acting at a young age; at the age of two, he began his career in television commercials for products such as Life cereal, Bounty, Hasbro, and Nabisco. He loved to dance and was enrolled in jazz and ballet classes, where he was the only boy in the class.

Two years later, at the age of four, Corbin signed a modeling contract with the New York-based Ford Modeling Agency. He appeared in print ads for Macy’s, Gap, Target, and Toys R Us. His picture was also featured in American baby magazines, toys, and toy packaging.

In 1996 his family moved to Los Angeles and he began to land roles in many television series such as High Incident (1996), ER (1994), Malcolm & Eddy (1996), Cover Me (1999), and The Amanda Show (1999) as well as feature films such as Soldier (1998), Mystery Men (1999), Galaxy Quest (1999).

In 2001 he was accepted into the Debbie Allen Dance Academy to pursue his passion for dancing. He was also one of the pioneering students of the school. Following in his mother’s footsteps, he attended the best school in New York, the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Arts and Performing Arts.

During his time at the High School, Corbin appeared in two student productions, Footloose as Ren and Grease as Sonny, and also won the award for Theatre Student of the Year. He graduated from high school in 2007 and was offered the opportunity to study at the prestigious Stanford University, but declined the offer because of his busy schedule.

In his first year of high school, Corbin got a big role in the movie Catch That Kid (2004) opposite Kristen Stewart and Max Thieriot.

In the summer of the following year, he was given a starring role in the Discovery Kids television series Flight 29 Down (2005), which was filmed in Hawaii on the island of Oahu and aired for three seasons.

Before graduating from high school, Corbin Bleu was given a lead role as Chad Danforth in High School Musical (2006).

He was cast alongside Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, and Lucas Grabeel. The film was directed by Kenny Ortega and premiered on January 20, 2006, with 7.7 million television viewers. The film brought in millions and was the most successful Disney film at the time.

To promote the film and work on High School Musical 2 (2007), Corbin and his co-stars toured with the 51-part High School Musical: The Concert (2006-2007). The franchise’s second film was released on August 17, 2007, and attracted over 17.2 million viewers in the U.S. alone. 2008 also saw the release of High School Musical 3: Senior Year, which attracted more viewers and generated over $252 million at the box office, exceeding everyone’s expectations.

Corbin Bleu contributed to the soundtrack of the film, which sold over 3 million copies in the United States alone.

His role in the High School Musical film series led to international recognition, which earned him further appearances in films, including the Disney film Jump In (2007), which broke the record for the best-rated Disney premiere at the time.

He also starred in two episodes of Hannah Montana as Johnny Collins and in other television shows such as The Beautiful Life: TBL, One Life to Live, Psych, Drop Dead Diva, and The Good Wife.

In 2013 he participated in the 17th season of the ABC dance competition Dancing With The Stars with Karina Smirnoff as a partner.

Corbin Bleu is an upright man. However, there were questions about his sexuality. These questions were erased when he married Sasha Clements in 2016 in Santa Susana, California.

Sasha Clements is a Canadian actress who is best known for her performances in The Snow Queen, What Warthogs Are There!, How to Build a Better Boy, Lost Girl, Mudpit, and Life with Boys.

The couple met in 2011 in a supermarket in Toronto and met for three years before he proposed to her at Disney World in October 2014.

Corbin Blue is of mixed ethnic origin. His mother, Martha Reivers, is Italian-American, while his father, David Reivers, is Jamaican.
