Dan Peres is an American magazine editor born in Baltimore and spent nearly two decades at Condé Nast. At that time, he became editor-in-chief of Details magazine. Talking about his education, he graduated from New York University with a degree in Journalism and American History.
In college, he worked as a copy boy at The New York Times and later served as a research assistant. He also spent nine years at W magazine, starting as an assistant editor and eventually becoming European editor. During his tenure at Details, he brought writers and columnists such as Augusten Burroughs, Anderson Cooper and many other famous faces to the magazine.
Under his leadership, Details has won two ASME Design Awards and numerous other nominations. In March 2019, he was named editor-in-chief of Gawker. After months of staff turnover at Bustle, the entire site staff was laid off in July 2019 and the launch was delayed. In July 2020, he was named editor-in-chief of Ad Age.
