According to Shepard, his mother named him after the rich Playboy Dax (Diogenes Alejandro Xenos) in Harold Robbins’ novel The Adventurers.

The star stated that he was never really interested in a comedy about himself, he thought he would stand out more in getting up because he was the class clown, but he never really had the courage to do it. He has an older brother, David Shepard, who lives in Oregon, and a younger half-sister, Carly Hatter, whom he cast in his movie Hit and Run 2012.

In 2013, the star left his vegan path and introduced the chicken back into his diet, this year PETA called Kristen and him the Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities. As flattering and honorable as it was, Dax had to go back, so he went to Twitter to say, ‘I’m really flattered to be called @IMKristenBell the ‘Sexiest Vegetarian’, but unfortunately I can’t accept in good conscience because I eat chicken.

PETA, however, was generally not deterred, Shepard and Bell must have really appealed to them.
