She joined the KLAS news team after working as a weekend anchor for KNBC News for nearly five years. Valdez is known for covering numerous events in Southern Nevada, nurturing a sense of confidence and credibility for KLAS viewers from 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm every weeknight since she joined KLAS in 2006.
Valdez was born and raised to a working-class Native American family living in the suburbs of Nevada, United States. Growing up, Denise was described as a very focused young woman who enjoyed studying and spending time with her family. She attended Granda Hills High School and graduated in the early 1990s.
