Diogo Jota signs new long-term Liverpool contract

Portuguese striker Diogo Jota has signed an additional five-year contract with Liverpool, keeping him at Anfield until 2027.

The 25-year-old was supported in September 2020 and has since emerged as a reliable player for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Jota has committed to 29 objective liabilities in 2021/22, despite his game plans for the new assignment having been hampered by a hamstring injury and he has not appeared in pre-season.

“In light of everything, [I’m] very happy, I mean,” he urged Liverpool’s real website after putting pen to paper.

“Obviously, since I showed up some time ago, I’ve laid a solid foundation for myself as a critical player in this meeting – this is exactly what I really wanted from the start.

“Gradually, marking yet another long contract, it is clearly confirmation from the club’s perspective of trust in me as a player. For my motivations, obviously, it’s perfect for spreading the word that I’ll be around for quite a while.

“In that vein, the start of another season, we could go on.”

On his real problems, Jota added: “Tragically for me, I’ve had an upset this pre-season since I got injured. [in the] last round of the season playing with Portugal. Again, so I was coming back this preseason, I felt a little. So it will be two or three extra weeks, I agree.

“Exactly when you fight for everything, like we did last year, you basically accept that you have to get over it and get better, because it’s possible.

“That motivation is in me and I know it is in my partners and in the whole team. We have all that to fight for those titles out there.”
