Don Postles is an American journalist who works as an anchor for WIVB News 4, a station on CBS, where he anchors on 5, 6, and 11. In January 1993, Postles joined the WIVB New Team.
Don previously worked as an anchor at WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, New York. He also worked as a co-anchor at KFSN-TV in Fresno, California and WKBW-TV in Buffalo, New York. Don also received first place in the New York State Broadcasters Association’s Investigative Reporting competition in July 1995.
He has also received numerous awards from the Associated Press and United Press International. After co-anchoring WIVB’s coverage of the Continental Flight 3407 accident, Don received the Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Journalism. In addition, Postles has covered several fascinating incidents, including the assassination of Pope John Paul II in 1981 and the recovery of Ann Odre, who was shot alongside the Pope.
Among Buffalo’s television anchors, Don occupies a unique position. He is the only person who works as a main anchor on all three of Buffalo’s television news stations. As a child, Postles has been a trusted source of local news in his hometown since he arrived in Buffalo in 1976.
