Drew Goodman Biography

Drew Goodman is an American sportscaster who currently serves as an announcer on play-by-play television for the Colorado Rockies and college basketball and football at AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain. He also works as a sports announcer for Roots sports.

Drew graduated from Ithaca College’s Park School of Communication in 1985 and later from the University of Missouri. He is an early employee of Prime Sports Rocky Mountain (now AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain).

In 1988, Drew joined the regional sports network and has been broadcasting Rocky Mountain games since 2002. Goodman hosted the Rocky Mountain pre-game show before moving to the play-by-play slot. In addition, Goodman has had extensive work in football, including stints in the NFL at NBC and the NFL at Fox.

At NBC, Drew was scheduled to join Todd Christensen as the #4 announcer team in 1994, and for the next two years, he was scheduled to join the #7 team, to be paired in 1995 with Tunch Ilkin and then with Bob Golic in 1996.

Drew also works college football and occasional NFL games for ESPN radio. In addition, Goodman called up games for the Night of Baseball in America on FOX Sports, college football games for the Big 12 Conferences, ACC, MWC, and WAC. Between 2000 and 2002, Drew called the Denver Broncos preseason games on the Broncos radio network. Additionally, he spent five seasons hosting the Broncos’ post-game report on the KOA.

From 1994 to 2004, Goodman worked as a play-by-play TV announcer for broadcasts from the Denver Nuggets. For three years in a row, Drew was one of two announcers nationally to be the lead voice of PXP for two professional teams simultaneously. In 1996, Goodman began presenting the Avalanche Pregame Report for FSN Rocky Mountain.

In 1990, Drew called the opening year of Prime Sports’ ATP tur coverage. In addition, he played-by-play for the first ATP tennis event in mainland China for worldwide distribution on Prime International in 1993. He also co-hosted the main midday sports radio show with Scott Hastings on 104.3 The Fan in Denver from 2012 to 2014.

In 2016, Drew was awarded his 13th “Colorado Sportscaster of the Year” from the National Association of Sports Broadcasters and Sports Journalists.
