Errol Barnett Biography
Errol Barnett is a British-born American news anchor and national correspondent who works for New York-based CBS News. Before moving to New York, Barnett was based in Washington D.C., where he covered President Trump.
Previously, Errol starred in CNN Newsroom overnight in the United States, as well as CNN International’s cultural affairs program Inside Africa. In his two years of service on the award-winning show, Barnett has reported from half the continent, including Ethiopia, Morocco, Madagascar and Senegal.
Barnett joined Garden Lakes Elementary School and then went to Westview High School in Avondale, Arizona, United States. After high school, Errol was hired by Channel One News, a move that forced him to move to Los Angeles in 2001.
On the channel, he became the youngest anchor/reporter at age 18, where he worked alongside Seth Doane, Gotham Chopra and Maria Menounos, among others. At the same time, he attended his college classes.
After he was accepted into the University of California, Errol left Channel One to complete his undergraduate studies. In July 2008, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science with a focus on international relations. Immediately, he was hired by CNN.
