Farah Nasser is a Canadian journalist who is currently a weekend anchor at Global National since June 2022. Prior to that, she has co-anchored Global Toronto’s 5:30 pm and 6 pm news since May 2015. She is one of the most recognized Torontonian faces in the news and is an award-winning journalist.
Born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, she was a sophomore in radio and television at Ryerson Polytechnic University. She also studied European Media Studies at the University of Westminster, London. At age 20, she got a summer job at CNN in New Delhi, India.
However, she started her professional career at Rogers TV before accepting a position at Newstalk 1010, where she worked up to the position of reporter. After landing this first major reporting gig, Nasser went on to hold various positions at Toronto 1, A-Channel News and many other stations before joining Global News.
When she is off duty, Nasser spends her time volunteering in the community. She is also a member of the board of directors of the Canadian Journalism Foundation. In addition, she serves as a mentor for the Canadian Association of Journalists and CivicAction.
