Fred Hunter is a well-known American journalist who currently works as a meteorologist for the WBRC Fox 6 News in Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to joining the station, Fred worked at various stations in South Carolina, Austin, Tuscaloosa and Myrtle Beach.
Hunter was born in the historic city of Ft. Payne, Alabama. He spent his entire life in the South, where he lived, studied, raised his family and worked.
Fred participated in University of Alabama after graduating Fyffe High School. He majored in Broadcast-Film, Journalism and Public Relations as an undergraduate and graduate student. Fred went to Mississippi State University meteorology school, where he obtained his certification from the National Weather Association.
