Heather Ly is an award-winning American journalist who currently works as an anchor and reporter on WGRZ Channel 2 in Buffalo, New York. She joined the 2 On Your Side team on October 12, 2006. A multi-skilled journalist, Heather films, writes and edits her own stories.
Ly is a Chicago native and spent two years reporting in Syracuse and upstate New York before moving to Buffalo. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago, where she received her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.
Heather began her journalism career at CBS 2 in Chicago, when a college internship turned into a permanent job as an editor and production assistant. She currently works as a weekday general assignment reporter and hosts Daybreak Saturday from 6am to 7am and 9am to 10am. Additionally, she hosts Daybreak Sunday from 6:30am to 8:00am.
