Ian Lee James is a renowned American journalist who currently works for CBS News based in Great Britain. Before joining CBS, Ian worked for CNN after serving as a multimedia editor at Daily News Egypt from 2009 to 2011.
At the same time, James was a freelance video journalist for Time Magazine and spent a year as a packaging producer for Reuters. Lee covered the 2011 Arab Spring, the Ukraine crisis, the Sochi Winter Olympics, the 2013 Egyptian coup d’état in Egypt, the 2014 Gaza War, the 2016 Turkish coup d’etat attempt, and the North Korea crisis in 2017, to name just a few.

He was the first journalist to obtain permission from the IDF to infiltrate Israel through adjacent Hezbollah tunnels. The PIJ also provided him with exclusive access to tunnels and weapons used to attack Israel.
