Isis King is a popular American actress, fashion designer, and model. She is most notable for her role in the eleventh cycle and seventeenth cycle of the reality television series. Additionally, King is best known as the first transgender woman to compete on the reality show “America’s Next Top Model. As an actress, she is known for her appearance in films such as “The Bold and the Beautiful”, “Strut”, “When They See Us” and “With Love” (2021)
Talking about King’s educational qualification, she attended high school from a local high school in her hometown where she was considered gay. There she decides to move out because she felt it didn’t suit her. She later earned an associate degree in design and illustration from the Atr Institute of Philadelphia. Isis was born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, United States.
After college, King moved to New York to begin his male-to-female transition, but did not have enough money as his family opposed the transition. Therefore, she moved to the Ali Forney Center for homeless LGBTQ youth. At first, she worked as a receptionist at a hair salon and as a program assistant for a non-profit organization. That same year, Isis also started hormone replacement therapy as part of her transition process. In 2009, she had her gender reassignment surgery, which she declared on American’s Next Top Model: All-Stars. There she became one of fourteen finalists for the show’s eleventh cycle before being eliminated fifth overall. After being eliminated from the show, Isis began posing for a photography set focused primarily on homeless youth, which became the catalyst for her return for cycle 17.
There she returned along with fellow contestant Sheena Sakai and represented her Cycle together in the first All-Star edition of the show. In addition, there were also twelve other model contestants from previous America’s Next Top Model cycles. During her time there, she managed to turn around until she reached the semifinalist where she was eliminated. In addition, she also participated in the prom underground culture scene.
