The famous British comedian Jack Whitehall, who is also a television presenter and an aspiring actor whose rise to fame dates back to 2008, was recently commissioned to host the Brits Award 2018, which is scheduled for February 21, 2018.

Jack Whitehall Biography

The comedian was born on 7 July 1988 in Westminster in central London. He attended Tower House School in East Sheen in West London before going to Dragon School, Oxford, and Marlborough College. During his childhood, he developed an interest in comedy, and as a teenager, he met comedian Jack Dee, whom he considers a hero in this field.

Whitehall’s comedy career officially began when he performed at the 2008 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, having qualified the previous year by winning the sketch show Comic Abuse. This was the start of his career and earned him numerous appearances, including the Channel 4 Comedy Gala in March 2010, the Montreal Just for Laugh’s Comedy Festival, and the Live at the Apollo show, which placed him in the top 10 future stars of Variety magazine. He also appeared on The Big Fat Quiz show, and like most comedians who often get in trouble for their jokes, Whitehall faced a controversial situation on the show when he made a joke about Queen Elizabeth II that most people didn’t like.

Apart from his comedy, the talented presenter has also appeared in television series and films. His first appearance in a sitcom was in a 1993 television series called The Good Guy, in which he played the role of Guy McFadyean Jr. in a single episode. In 1997, he made another appearance in the Noah’s Ark series as Ben Winston in a single episode. Other prominent roles for which he is known to include J.P. in the sitcom Fresh Meat, which aired from 2011 to 2016, and Alfie Wickers in the series Bad Education from 2012 to 2014, for which he was author and co-producer.

Other series in which he has appeared include the sitcom Beehive, Drunk History, Litle Crackers, Psychobitches, Cockroaches, Thunderbirds Are Go, Decline and Fall, Bounty Hunters, and the mini-series The Life of Rock from a long list of sitcoms. His film appearances include The Bad Education Movie, Mother’s Day, in which he appeared as Zack Zimm, Asterix: The Castles of the Gods, in which he played a dubbing role for the character of Asterix, and the film The Nutcracker And The Four Realms as Harlequin.


The talented comedian was the winner of the 2007 Amused Moose and Charlie Harthill Special Reserve. He is also a three-time winner of the King of Comedy, British Comedy Award for 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Among the nominations he has received Best Male Comedy Breakthrough Artist at the 2011 British Comedy Awards, Best Newcomer at the 2009 Edinburgh Comedy Awards, and Chortle best newcomer 2008, he also finished second in the 2007 Laughing Horse finals and a finalist in the So You Think You’re Funny? 2007 and Hackney Empire New Act 2008 competitions.

The comedian, presenter, and actor is the son of the actress Hilary Amanda Jane Whitehall, known on stage as Hilary Gish. His father is Michael John Whitehall, television producer and author of Shark-Infested Waters. Coming from a house full of entertainers and artists, it’s no wonder that Whitehall has achieved great success just a short time after starting his career.

Whitehall is the firstborn in the family, and he has a younger sister named Molly Louisa and a younger brother named Barnaby William.
