Jackie Redmond is a Canadian journalist who currently works as a sports anchor, producer and reporter for Sports Central, National Hockey League and Major League Baseball Networks. When she was young, she used to play hockey and other sports and her father motivated her to become a sports anchor.
Redmond did most of his studies in Canada. In 2006, she joined the University of Guelph-Humber in Toronto, where she majored in Arts in Media Studies and in Journalism in 2010.
After graduating, she got a job as an intern at Entertainment Tonight Canada, where she worked for four months. She later won Gilette Drafted: The Search for Canada’s Next Sportscaster, Season 3 in 2011. When she emerged as the show’s winner, she became a big target for TV stations looking for a sportscaster, which made it easy for her to get a job.
Before long, she was working with Sportsnet, a famous sports specialty in Canada. While here, she was responsible for co-organizing Live@the score. She covered the Hokey Central Playoff for the NHL Network. Furthermore, she secured a one-year contract working as a sportsman for Gillette, making her the first woman for that role.
