Jackson Proskow is a Canadian journalist who currently works as the Washington Bureau Chief for the Global Television Network. His career has taken him from earthquake-ravaged Nepal to floods in South Alberta, hurricane relief missions in the Caribbean, and even the royal wedding.
Born in Calgary, Albert, he studied and graduated from the University of Calgary. He later studied at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Mike is one of the few who started his career at a young age. At the age of 16, he began his career at Shaw TV. He was hired by Global Television as a cameraman and anchor in Lethbridge in June 2004.
In September 2005, he joined CHCH-TV in Hamilton, Ontario. A year later, he joined Global Toronto in January 2006. Mike moved to Washington in August 2014. During his tenure as a City Hall reporter for Global Toronto, he covered the turmoil surrounding Mayor Rob Ford. His reporting has earned him several awards, including the Edward R. Murrow Award for his investigation into safety issues on Toronto’s Gardiner Expressway.
